SmartURN

SmartURN is Quiet-Oceans’ autonomous and deployable system designed to measure the Underwater Radiated Noise (URN) of vessels in real operating conditions. Deployed as a buoyed monitoring station for a defined period in strategic maritime areas, SmartURN continuously records the acoustic signature of ships transiting nearby.

This opportunistic measurement approach offers vessels passing the station a unique opportunity to gain an objective assessment of their underwater noise emissions without the cost and logistical constraints of dedicated sea trials. While not designed for formal Bureau Veritas certification, the methodology is robust and closely aligned with recognised URN measurement standards, providing high-quality data and valuable insights into vessel acoustic performance.
